Historical New Hampshire Retailers…continuing the tradition.

Nancy C. Kyle

President & CEO

Nancy joined the New Hampshire Retail Association in 1994 as their Membership and Marketing Director, and was named President/CEO in 1999.  In 2001, Nancy was instrumental in defeating the proposed sales tax, and in 2004, she successfully implemented a start-up, self funded workers’ compensation insurance program for members of the NH Retail Association.  In 2009, Nancy was pivotal in getting the NH Retail Association a substantial grant from the Public Utilities Commission and the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to form an Energy Efficiency Program for members. 2012 saw Nancy putting together a discounted Electrical Purchasing Program for members.

Nancy grew up in Dartmouth, MA and graduated from Bridgewater College.  After graduation, she worked in Los Angeles at the in-house advertising agency for Thrifty Drug and Discount Stores.  She moved back to her hometown and worked as a classified and retail advertising sales representative at the New Bedford Standard Times.

Nancy has been working with retailers in New Hampshire since 1987, when the Concord Monitor moved her here to be their Retail Advertising Manager.  She also worked at Rockingham County Newspapers in Stratham, NH as their Advertising Director.

Nancy served on the national board of the Council of State Retail Associations, and was a co-founder of Live and Let Live Farm, a nonprofit horse rescue in Chichester, NH.  She was appointed by Governor John Lynch to serve on the Travel and Tourism Advisory Committee and currently serves as the co-chair of Association Members’ Workers’ Compensation Trust and on the Advisory Committee to Granite State College.  Governor Chris Sununu named her to the Re-Opening Task Force in 2020 – she was one of nineteen people charged with re-opening the state after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Her hobbies include horseback riding, kayaking, drawing and painting.  Nancy and her husband Frank live in Pembroke, NH with Nancy’s horse Shade and their two tuxedo cats Lucy and Ethel.
