Plymouth Furniture Company, a third generation furniture store established in 1923 by Solomon Steinman and today run by his grandsons James and David Lurie.

Located in downtown Plymouth. Photo circa 1948. NH Retail Association Member since1966. One of our Founding Members!

 

Dutille’s Jewelers, a third generation jewelry store, established in 1959 by Philias Dutille. Today it’s run by his son Jude, and grandson Beau works there.

Located on the Green in downtown Lebanon, NH.  NH Retail Association Member since1968. One of our First Members!

 

Granite State Candy Shoppe, a third generation candy store, established 1927 by Peter Bart, in photo at the back of the store on the left. His grandson Jeff runs the business today.

Endicott Furniture, a fourth generation furniture store, established in 1925 by Hyman Reingold. The business today is run by his grandson Mark and great-grandson Eric.

Red’s Shoe Barn established in 1958 by Peter Murray and run today by his son Patrick.

Alie’s Jewelers, established by Albert Alie, 1914, and his grandchildren Jill, Steve, Leo and Jennifer are all involved in the store. Locations in Portsmouth and Dover. Photo circa 1930’s after the Dover store was remodeled. NH Retail Association Member since 1968. One of our first members!

 

The Old Country Store, perhaps the oldest store in the country, established in 1781 and run for 45+ years by the Holden family.

Located in Moultonborough, the store has been the scene of town meetings in 1800’s, the library, a stage stop, and a post office for over 100 years. NH Retail Association Member since 1999.

 

Miltner’s Shoes/Bootleggers, a third generation family shoe store, established in 1965 by Albert W. Miltner, shown above.

Locations in Stratham, Wolfeboro, Rochester, Keene, N Conway, Meredith and Laconia, NH, as well as Greenfield, MA. Photo circa 1968. NH Retail Association Member since 1967. One of our First Members!

 

Benson Lumber and Hardware, established in 1913 by George Washington Benson, and run today by the fourth generation brothers Grant, Brad and Scott. 4 Locations in Derry and Londonderry, including a Ski and Sport Shop and Garden Center. Photo circa early 1930’s. NH Retail Association Member since 1985.

 

Exeter Handkerchief Company, established in 1937 by Richard Kent to supply handkerchiefs for the armed services, and today run by his grandson Andrew Rockwell.

Lahout’s Country Clothing and Ski Shop, the oldest ski shop in America, established in 1920 by Herbert and Anne Lahout peddling goods in a horse drawn wagon. Their son Joe, shown in the photo, started in the business at age 12 in 1935, and today the fourth generation is working there.

Eight locations in Littleton and Lincoln, including specialty concept stores with The North Face®, Patagonia®, Under Armour®, Columbia®, and Life Is Good®. NH Retail Association Member since 1986.

 

Baron’s Major Brands Appliances, a second generation appliance store, founded in 1947 by Donald Baron and run today by cousins Brian Ellis, Mike Baron and Dave Souter.

Locations in Concord, Belmont, Plaistow, Salem, Nashua, Ossipee and Manchester. Photo circa late 1950’s.
